Mercy Primary

Mercy Primary was founded by the community in a remote, rural area on the banks of Lake Victoria in the Mbita region of Kenya.

 

Since 2013, COCO has worked alongside Viagenco to support the development of Mercy Primary School, focusing both on the physical development of Mercy (by replacing 10 temporary classrooms and building a school office and composting toilets), and investing in Income Generation Programmes including a school farm to help increase the school’s self-sufficiency and sustainability.

In September 2023 COCO stepped back from the Mercy Primary School partnership. We are confident that the infrastructure and programmes now established will continue to support the provision of quality education for many generations to come.
